J.Burt & Sons are enthusiastic collectors and restorers of vintage crosscut saws, axes, woodworking hand tools, and old woodworking machines (arn). Pricing for restoration services is set at an hourly rate and example times for different services are shown below. Actual times may vary based on tool condition. Crosscut Saws:
Sharpening- 1 hr. per foot of saw length
Touch up of previously filed saw- 30 mins per foot
Full restoration including cleaning- 2 hr. per foot
Axes:
Rehandle- 1 hour
Reprofile of cutting geometry- 2 hours
Full Restoration of old head with handle- 4 hours
Old Woodworking Machines:
A quote can be provided based on part availability, condition assessment, and desired outcome. Lead times may vary considerably.
